VIDEO: Ford Taurus Ride and Drive Media Outtakes

As Promised, the ArabWheels blog will feature things we just can't put in print. a case in point is this video. Shot by Ford's PR group during our most recent outing in Abu Dhabi. Video After the Jump

The Video contains outtakes from the Drive to the Liwa terrain in the Empty Quarter desert, as well as a cameo role from yours truly.

This is incidentally my first You Tube apparition, and the first ArabWheels blog embedded video. We hope it's the first of many. We'd also like applaud Ford Middle East for embracing modern day social web applications to bring itself closer to the public.

A little bit about the trip: once set up and ready to go from Abu Dhabi, the drive mainly consisted of  long straight cruising all the way to our destination some 200km later. On the road we experienced the Ford Taurus' latest gadgetry from Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Warning, Blis, as well as Cross Traffic Alert. all these systems work very effectively at lightening a driver's workload, allowing him/her to enjoy the finer things, such as the cooled and massaged front seats, dual zone climate control, a state of the art Sony Surround Sound system hooked up to Ford's Microsoft developed SYNC.
SYNC will let you connect your IPOD and lock it in the center console, and basically forget about it as you can control everything from the car's controls both on the center console and the steering wheel, everything is displayed on the center touch screen that also displays the navigation system maps.

And did I mention the silence? when you shut that door, the inside of the Taurus turns into a Sanctuary, much like the calm in which our destination bathed in. The Qasra Al Sarab Resort in Liwa was the perfect Backdrop, and experiencing Gail force winds and massive rain during the night, in the middle of the desert was something else....

Enjoy the Video
